As long as we have each other.

Are we there yet?
My scanner couldn't fit the whole painting.
Edit 01.21.11: Added the colored version. As it says in the caption, my scanner couldn't fit the whole painting so I ended up cutting off some of the bottom. And I gave it to my friend before I could re-scan unfortunate.
It's been a while, guys. This year has been all rough and tumble for me, so I didn't get to drawing as much as I wanted to. Really, though, that's just an excuse...I'm really bad at keeping myself on track.
This is a work in progress for a friend. It's being painted in acrylics. I've already painted most of it but some of it still needs work and detailing...I haven't used acrylics in a while, especially on this type of paper so there are some messy parts that I'm not very fond of. The characters are Finn and Jake from Adventure Time. The original picture can be found here.
Drawing this got me thinking...I should really find my own style. Otherwise I'm just a…

Accio charcoal.

Wingardium Leviosa!
Edit 01.18.11: I lied. I forgot to scan it before I gave it to my friend. So here you just have the ugly camera version. My bad.
A picture of Emma Watson for my friend; this is a picture from my camera so excuse the odd colors (flash does weird things to a picture). I haven't scanned it in yet since the fixative isn't sprayed on yet; I don't want the colors smudging onto the screen. This is done in charcoal; haven't done that in a couple of years, so it took me a while to get the hang of it again. Also very trial and error...I haven't drawn human faces in a while either. Good practice, though! It's not perfect, though...need more practice with faces. Eventually! Anyway, I was too lazy to do the details on her shirt so no flowers (they're not the point anyway). I'll post a better picture of it later once I can scan it. Hope you guys like it!

Childhood memories.

Be the Hobbes to my Calvin.
Edit 01.14.11: And now I present to you the colored version of my drawing. It's cropped, so it doesn't show the entire picture although it's basically the same (just some more grass). I colored Calvin and Hobbes with colored pencils and painted the background with watercolors. I would've done the whole thing in colored pencil if I weren't impatient and if I didn't know that I would probably screw the background up somehow with colored pencils. I think this turned out rather nicely and I hope he enjoys this picture. My mom originally thought I drew this to put up in our house or something so she suggested getting a frame for it and I had to let her down. This goes to someone else, mother dear! I'll probably draw her a Totoro or a Snoopy to compensate.
Another drawing for a friend--not done yet, I'm going to color it with colored pencils. I may use watercolor for the background...not sure yet. I'm sure you've all seen thi…

My life for Aiur.

My wife for hire?
Edit 01.01.11: Uploaded the watercolor version of my drawing. I realized as I was painting it that my proportions were still off but whatever. Creative license, yeah? Since I am basing this drawing off another drawing...y'know...I can take some artistic liberties.  I don't want to do a background because I can't think of a good background. It's harder than you think! Anyway, that's what I'm going to end up giving my friend so...yeah, hope he likes it.
It's been a while, hasn't it? I've been slacking off on drawing because of finals and then after that it was pure laziness...but no more! It's a new year and that means new habits, and I am really going to try extra hard to get some drawings up on this thing. I have already planned a couple in my mind...
So, uh, this beautiful creature is a zealot from StarCraft. My friend requested a drawing of it for Christmas, and I've only started to get around to it now (bad friend!). I'…
